Description: Standard wall insulation is a good product to use for absorbing echo, but it will not STOP sound. It is used inside of a wall cavity to absorb the standing wave in the wall so sound energy does not reverberate in the wall cavity. Description: This ceiling tile starts as a 1" or 2" thick board of fiberglass and is cut down to the specific size needed. They are usually faced with a rolled vinyl we call "painted nubby" due to the look of the finished product. They can also be faced with decorative fabric, black felt, or a non-porous white reinforced Mylar. Often times for clean rooms or medical institutions, these panels are completely encapsulated in Mylar to keep the fiberglass particulates from becoming airborne - these are our Ultra San panels.

Description: A "Cloud" is the industry name for a panel that is suspended from the ceiling paralell to the floor. These baffles are fabricated with a rigid 6-7# density fiberglass board and have one of two types of support systems on the back of the panels. They are generally hung with the same wire used for dropping a T-bar grid. We can make any size up to a 4' x 10' baffle. These are usually installed in rooms without fire suppression sprinklers and give the feeling of a lower ceiling than the "actual" ceiling.

By installing carpet and carpet pad onto a floor, both will act as an absorber. The thicker the carpet and carpet pad, the more echo will be absorbed. The NRC for carpet will vary depending on the thickness and type of each. People often consider putting carpet on the walls of a room which, technically, will reduce some of the echo. But, unless you are going for a 70's look, there are much more effective ways to eliminate echo. |
